Une \u00e9tude spectroscopique des ions erbium a permis de d\u00e9velopper un mod\u00e8le num\u00e9rique pour analyser l\u2019impact de l\u2019absorption excit\u00e9e (ESA), du transfert d\u2019\u00e9nergie vers le haut (ETU) et de l\u2019extinction de l\u2019\u00e9mission (quenching) sur les performances des amplificateurs, ainsi que pour estimer les param\u00e8tres optimaux afin de maximiser le gain. La premi\u00e8re fabrication de circuits photoniques int\u00e9gr\u00e9s (PIC) \u00e0 amplificateurs dop\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019erbium (EDWA) a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 des gains en petit signal de 4,5 dB et 18 dB sur puce et sur la section active, respectivement. Une optimisation du design a ensuite permis d\u2019atteindre des gains de 15,2 dB, 19,1 dB et 24,4 dB, avec des puissances maximales de 110 mW, 180 mW et 330 mW, respectivement.
