Ancr\u00e9 dans la transition \u00e9cologique, l&#8217;institut FOTON participe ainsi aux recherches scientifiques visant \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9laboration et la fabrication de cellules solaires plus performantes ou plus vertueuses. Comme d\u00e9crit sur cette page, le d\u00e9partement OHM travaille notamment sur les <strong>cellules tandems sur silicium<\/strong> ainsi que sur d&#8217;autre concepts avanc\u00e9s en photovolta\u00efque tels que les <strong>cellules \u00e0 porteurs chauds<\/strong> ou \u00e0 base d\u2019<strong>h\u00e9t\u00e9rojonctions d\u2019oxides m\u00e9talliques sur Si<\/strong>. Les \u00e9tudes de cellules solaires \u00e0 base de p\u00e9rovskites halog\u00e9n\u00e9es sont d\u00e9crites dans la th\u00e9matique \u00ab&nbsp;Physique des mat\u00e9riaux et dispositifs p\u00e9rovskites&nbsp;\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de ses activit\u00e9s dans le domaine du photovolta\u00efque, le d\u00e9partement OHM a d\u00e9marr\u00e9 des recherches autour de l\u2019\u00e9tude et du d\u00e9veloppement de nouveaux mat\u00e9riaux pour la <strong>production d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne solaire<\/strong>, en collaboration avec l\u2019ISCR. La conversion de l\u2019\u00e9nergie lumineuse directement en hydrog\u00e8ne, \u00e0 partir de l\u2019\u00e9lectrolyse de l\u2019eau, permettrait la production renouvelable d\u2019un combustible r\u00e9utilisable sur demande pour nos besoins en \u00e9nergie. Les approches envisag\u00e9es se basent sur l\u2019utilisation de mat\u00e9riaux p\u00e9rovskites, ou semi-conducteurs III-V d\u00e9pos\u00e9s en couches fines sur substrats Si, de catalyseurs et de couches de protection contre la corrosion. Le d\u00e9partement s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 l\u2019<strong>\u00e9laboration des mat\u00e9riaux, leurs propri\u00e9t\u00e9s physiques, leurs caract\u00e9risations structurales et \u00e9lectro-optiques, et aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s photo-\u00e9lectrochimiques des \u00e9lectrodes d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">R\u00e9sultats et faits scientifiques<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cellules tandems sur silicium:<\/strong> L\u2019objectif est de d\u00e9velopper des cellules tandems associant une cellule bottom de silicium monocristallin de gap 1.1 eV avec une cellule top de gap d\u20191.7 eV, ceci pour permettre de d\u00e9passer les rendements th\u00e9oriques du silicium seul. L\u2019int\u00e9gration monolithique d\u2019h\u00e9t\u00e9rostructures CIGS sur silicium permet de concilier \u00e0 la fois hauts rendements et bas co\u00fbts, tout en capitalisant sur une ou plusieurs fili\u00e8res industrielles \u00e9prouv\u00e9es. L&#8217;approche originale d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e dans ce projet est d&#8217;introduire \u00e0 l&#8217;interface entre la cellule silicium et la cellule CIGS une couche interm\u00e9diaire tr\u00e8s fine d\u2019un mat\u00e9riau III-V qui sert de contact s\u00e9lectif pour la cellule CIGS epitaxi\u00e9e directement sur la couche III-V. Des premiers r\u00e9sultats montrent une \u00e9pitaxie du mat\u00e9riau CIGS sur un pseudo-substrat de GaP\/Si(001). De plus, le mat\u00e9riau III-V sert de barri\u00e8re chimique entre le Si et le CIGS, et emp\u00eache le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de d\u00e9lamination entre les deux sous-cellules. Le CIGS est \u00e9labor\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019IMN et \u00e0 l\u2019IPVF, les pseudo-substrats GaP\/Si \u00e0 l\u2019Institut FOTON et les cellules silicium sont \u00e9labor\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019INL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour en savoir plus, voir ci dessus le projet ANR EPCIS et les projets MINOTAURE et IOTA du PEPR TASE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cellules \u00e0 porteurs chauds:<\/strong> Les cellules solaires \u00e0 porteurs chauds permettent th\u00e9oriquement d\u2019atteindre des rendements sup\u00e9rieurs \u00e0 la limite physique de Shockley-Queisser avec une seule jonction. Dans ce type de cellules, l\u2019objectif est de faire contribuer au photocourant les porteurs d\u2019\u00e9nergie sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle du gap, avant thermalisation. Cette \u00e9tude a donn\u00e9 lieu \u00e0 publication dans la revue Nature Energy en 2018. Les partenaires de ce projet sont : L\u2019IPVF SAS (Palaiseau), L\u2019UMR IPVF (Palaiseau), le C2N (Univ. Projet en cours&nbsp;: ANR ICEMAN (ANR-19-CE05-0019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour en savoir plus, voir ci dessus le projet ANR ICEMAN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cellules photovolta\u00efques \u00e0 base d\u2019h\u00e9t\u00e9rojonctions d\u2019oxides m\u00e9talliques sur Si:<\/strong> Les cellules solaires de haute performance \u00e0 h\u00e9t\u00e9rojonction en silicium pr\u00e9sentent une faible vitesse de recombinaison de surface gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une couche \u00e9mettrice \u00e0 large bande interdite qui permet aux porteurs majoritaires de circuler vers le contact \u00e9lectrique tout en r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissant les porteurs minoritaires. Elle est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement constitu\u00e9e d&#8217;une couche amorphe d&#8217;a-Si:H (1,7 eV de quasi-bande interdite), qui pr\u00e9sente des pertes optiques \u00e9lev\u00e9es limitant la conversion de la lumi\u00e8re \u00e0 des longueurs d&#8217;onde courtes. L\u2019oxide m\u00e9tallique MoO<sub>3<\/sub> est un mat\u00e9riau prometteur pour remplacer l&#8217;a-Si:H car il pr\u00e9sente une bande interdite plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e (2,9 eV) et une fonction de travail importante, ce qui permet d&#8217;obtenir un alignement de bandes \u00e9lectroniques appropri\u00e9 entre cette couche \u00e9mettrice et l&#8217;absorbeur en silicium. Cette \u00e9tude entre dans le cadre du d\u00e9veloppement de syst\u00e8mes autonomes pour l\u2019internet des objets (IoT) au travers le projet EU NANO-EH d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019optimisation de nouveaux nano-mat\u00e9riaux non-toxiques et bas-co\u00fbts pour les int\u00e9grer \u00e0 des dispositifs miniaturis\u00e9s de r\u00e9colte et de stockage de l\u2019\u00e9nergie (rectennas, dispositifs pyro\u00e9lectriques, supercapacit\u00e9s, photovoltaiques, etc..). Le contexte du projet NANO-EH concerne les technologies de la communication et le d\u00e9veloppement de l&#8217;IoT pour des applications r\u00e9centes telles que la m\u00e9decine personnalis\u00e9e
