Responsable : Marc VALLET

Le point commun des activités de recherche de l’équipe DOP est l’optique cohérente. Autour de celle-ci s’articulent des thématiques aussi variées que les lasers à faible bruit, la métrologie terahertz, les lasers bi-fréquences, les oscillateurs opto-électroniques, les senseurs interférométriques, l’imagerie, le lidar, les peignes de fréquences, les capteurs à fibre ou la commande optique d’antennes. Une de nos spécificités est d’adresser des problématiques fondamentales en optique, tout en réalisant d’importants développements instrumentaux. Pour ce faire, l’équipe s’appuie sur un plateau technique multi-compétences (optique, électronique, mécanique, informatique) assurant la conception et la réalisation de systèmes originaux.

L’équipe DOP s’insère dans un réseau de collaborations avec des partenaires académiques à l’échelle locale (IETR, Ecobio, IPR, ISCR), nationale (CEA LETI, LIPhy, IEMN, IPAG, Optimag, IJL) et internationale (INRS Montréal, Universités de Elche et de Castellon (Espagne), Université Libre de Bruxelles, Université de Twente). L’équipe a aussi plusieurs collaborations avec des acteurs industriels (Lumibird, Exail, Thales TRT, III-V Lab, Silentsys…).

Les enseignants-chercheurs de l’équipe DOP enseignent principalement à l’UFR Sciences et Propriétés de la Matière (SPM). Par ailleurs, les enseignants-chercheurs et chercheurs de l’équipe contribuent activement à la formation de pointe en photonique, au travers du Master Photonique à dimension régionale.

Thématiques de recherche

Les thématiques de recherche de l’équipe DOP visent à approfondir les connaissances fondamentales, notamment en physique des lasers, pour développer des applications innovantes, en particulier pour l’optique hyperfréquence/THz, et pour l’imagerie. Ces activités, avant tout expérimentales, s’appuient sur une forte complémentarité des compétences techniques, et sur un parc instrumental important (lasers, systèmes optiques, appareils de caractérisation et de mesure…)
