Stéphane Trebaol’s Defense of French Habilitation Degree will take place in room 020G at ENSSAT in Lannion on the 13th of June 2025 at 2:00 PM.
Coherent light sources for visible and near-UV
Stéphane Trebaol
Abstract: In this presentation, I will outline my research activities since my
appointment as an assistant professor at the University of Rennes (ENSSAT).
In particular, I will focus on my work on low-noise laser sources for
applications in the fields of sensors (health, environment) and
time/frequency metrology. First, I will present my work on 1.55 µm Brillouin
fiber lasers, followed by my work on lasers emitting in the near-ultraviolet
and visible ranges based on the use of gallium nitride laser diodes
subjected to optical feedback. A section on the frequency stabilization of
these sources on frequency references will also be discussed. Finally, I
will outline the research perspectives emerging from my work, which are
oriented towards the miniaturization of laser sources and the development of
visible light sources for quantum technologies.
